The children of the Roma community in Galoch have long lacked an institution that would provide a safe, supportive and developing environment from early childhood. The goal of the Saint Martin Caritas Transcarpathian County Charitable Foundation is to create a kindergarten that not only serves the education, learning and development of children, but also contributes to building the future of the community. To achieve this, thanks to the support of Renovabis, we managed to purchase a property with the accompanying plot. The floor area of the building is 94.3 square meters, the size of the plot is 0.1594 hectares. The property will operate as a kindergarten for Roma children in the future.

The building was purchased in October 2025, after which the St. Martin Caritas handed over the property and the associated land to the Queen of the Rosary Roman Catholic Parish of Galoch. We have already reached an agreement with a local entrepreneur about the renovation of the building.

After the renovation and commissioning of the property purchased with the support of Renovabis, the impact on the Roma community will be felt in the long term. The establishment of the kindergarten will enable Roma children to access quality education and developmental activities from an early age, which will improve their school performance and increase their educational opportunities in the long term. A stable and safe educational environment directly contributes to the improvement of their health and well-being.

The most effective way to integrate the Roma community is to start in early childhood, as this is when children are most receptive. Thus, as they grow up, it will become natural for them to attend regular kindergarten and then school later. If we can achieve that fewer people drop out of education too early, their chances of finding a place in the labor market later will increase significantly.

The kindergarten will also make it easier for parents to find employment and access training opportunities, as it reduces the obstacles caused by childcare. This will increase the income and social opportunities of families in the long term. The project directly improves the opportunities of Roma children and contributes to strengthening their integration into society.

We see the goal clearly: to give a chance for a better life to children who started life with a significant disadvantage compared to the majority society.

The renovation works will be launched after the second tranche of the grant from Renovabis is received.

We would like to thank Renovabis again for their trust and support. Without this contribution, this project would not have been possible. We greatly appreciate Renovabis' continued cooperation, which provides support to communities in need in Transcarpathia.
